Gold iPhone 5S: You Like?

This is one of the things that makes me appreciate Apple products.

I wish they also had these for the 4S and iPad 4th Gen.


Psh. Now THIS is that one thing that irks me about technology. They make a new one, they forget the old one. Though I know my 4S is sooo last year-ish (was hoping for a bigger screen like 4.5" or 5.3" when the 5 came out) but yeah, that didn't happen, unfortunately.


The latest iPhone 5S sure looks oddly tall and small, but I discovered three awesome features from it when I finally laid my hands on the gold version a couple of weeks ago which I, too, cannot hate:

- stunning 8MP iSight camera

(even Nat Geo photographer ditched his Nikon for this!)

- gorgeous Retina display (as always)

- unbelievably thin and lightweight

(despite the fact that it's fully metal-and-glass covered!)

But that Touch iD feature (how-to: here) fails to amaze me, really. And if I may add, the so-called gold covered iPhone is actually not that impressive. I mean, it's just plain aluminium coloured gold (source: here). At certain angle, you can't really see it. But don't get me wrong. I like it. I do. When Apple decided to come out with this gold version, it was my dream came true. It's just that I think they could do better than this. And if you already own one, lucky you.
Seriously.

I notice as I get older, most of the things I like are pricier and I have no idea why. But you know what, it's never wrong to dream big.

Note: Received one of the two items on my last year's wishlist a couple of months ago and was indeed thrilled! Something similar, but way waaaaayy better. Thank you for making me feel so special. You know who you are.. :)

What makes the Surface RT different is that it comes with a kickstand and a micro-SD card slot! A gorgeous tablet PC that runs both as a tablet AND a computer! Just perfect for my liking. Of course, not forgetting the detachable keyboard known as Touch Cover which you can choose from several different eye-catching colours!

THE NEXUS FAMILY

Technologies have gone insanely competitive!

I mean, admit it. There is no longer the term "the latest" applicable for them. It is just so hard to keep up as the ever-changing technology is evolving at such a rapid pace!
Aaaaaaaaaarghhhhhh!!

**err... my interpretation of rapid? ...... yeah.**

Now, not that I oppose such evolution but sometimes it can be a bit annoying, to be honest.

You know how frustrating it is when one day you have finally got yourself that new, hot, fast-selling, most-desired item in the market but then a month later, the company has decided to produce a revamped version of it that puts yours to shame. To make it worst, a week after that, they make a whole new redesigned version of the both of them which makes either one look pretty much prehistoric.



Take this what I call;
"The Nexus Family".
The Nexuses especially (now that sounds so cool!) have gotten better and better specs-wise and design-wise. I am talking about the three "latest" versions, actually when I said that. Do know, too, that all these Nexuses are from very different companies.

The first Nexus (I like to call it, "Abang Long" :P) was the Nexus One (released Jan 5, 2010). The second brother in the family (Abang Ngah?) was the Nexus S (released May 2011) while the third one (Alang? Hey, that's my nickname! *lol*), which gave the most impact on all the Nexus lovers was the Galaxy Nexus (released November 17, 2011).

Hehe. Confused, already?


Then somewhere around November 2012, came the three "latest" Nexuses in the market.
Nexus 4 [LG]
Nexus 7 [ASUS]
Nexus 10 [Samsung]
All three in one frigging month!
*more or else, oh well.. you do the math*


So which one is the most worth-buying gadget among all these Nexuses? Watch this review if you are curious like myself and you'll get the answer. Fret not, this is a very on-point review.

Okay, so I have a confession to make:

Some of you may already know this but yes, I am a gadget-freak. And proud to be one. Haha. But I'm not the kind who normally buys this or that just because I want to. Or because it is the latest gadget in the market so I have to have one. NO. I am a very particular person so whatever that I chose to have now, I can assure you that it was decided after long and thoughtful considerations, not to mention thorough research. Yes, you read it right. When it comes to gadgets, unlike clothes or handbags, acknowledging the fact that I will be using them for years to come, I sure want only the best.

Some people think that gadget junkies are those who tend to have every in-thing whichever that is offered following the trend, which is partially true. Oh, I'm not talking about phones specifically; it can be cameras, Bluetooth headsets, laptops, GPS, or even humongous things like LCD TVs. So in terms of mobile phones, honestly, I'm on the opposite side. Technology has changed greatly, even in the recent years. It is growing at a rapid rate of speed that normal humans can no longer keep up. Today you buy an Apple iPhone and feeling great about it, but the next day you see someone with a giant Samsung Galaxy Note and suddenly you think your iPhone seems somewhat outdated.

I'm just saying.

Having said that, I always go for the one with a complete package and an extra "umph" point in which other phones don't have. So my way of choosing a phone requires these personal characteristics:

# A phone which can last for more than three years without looking old-fashioned.*yes, a loyal user. I love to stick to one phone*

# A phone which is a head-turner, and will still be for years to come. *sometimes I love to have that attention - but not in trains*

# A phone which can capture high-quality photos and videos. *mind you, not all phones with the highest megapixel take good photos*

# A phone with a crazy-fast processor and super fine screen. *I surf A LOT and well, let's just say I'm fussy like that. I'm a gadget-freak?*

# A phone which has a friendly-user interface and a smooth commendable responsive touch screen. *the iPhone OS is unbeatable*

# A phone with a huge capacity; battery and storage. *simply can't live without a phone. Texting, tweeting, Facebook-ing, surfing, YouTube-ing*

Well, just to point a few.

I would love to reminisce about the phones I had before ever since my teenage years (funny how 8-year-olds these days have iPads!) but not today. Now let's get back on track. Hehe.

So I've been thinking lately whether or not to switch my iPhone 4 to one of these two. Like always, I've done countless research about them; I watched endless reviews on YouTube; read so many articles about the pros and cons of both phones; anxiously, yet patiently asking people about these high-end s*ckers, but in the end, I still can't make up my mind. Tough call, really. Though I have to admit, I can't wait to be the owner of one of these!

I'm now at my favourite Cyber Cafe (CC) -- the one and only CC I don't mind spending the whole day "with", AZTEC.
The place is always empty whenever I get here. Uh huh. I'm not kidding.
The only customers I've seen so far are my sisters and I and I'm guessing we are their only regulars.


I've always wondered why but I dare not to ask. You know, maybe it's personal. However, based on my own observation, I think the place stresses more on browsing and researching rather than online gaming. They purposely limit their games installed in each PC and they don't even provide a single headset!
Whoever wants a CC with NO HEADSET, for fun's sake?



Anyways, I'm getting a little out of topic.
I actually wanted to talk about the new iPad 2!
