GALAXY NOTE TEST

Posted by ♥ aNNa ♥ at 5:45 AM 0 comments
GOOD NEWS!

I'm going out in a few hours to re-re-retest (haha) the Galaxy Note and see if I really like everything about it. The size, the screen, the responsiveness, the camera, everything!

Wish me luck!

iPhone 4S vs Galaxy Note

Posted by ♥ aNNa ♥ at 1:45 AM 0 comments
Okay, so I have a confession to make:
"I'M IN LOVE WITH THE NEW GALAXY NOTE!!!"

There, I said it.
http://www.get-em-ol.blogspot.com

Some of you may already know this but yes, I am a gadget-freak. And proud to be one. Haha. But I'm not the kind who normally buys this or that just because I want to. Or because it is the latest gadget in the market so I have to have one. NO. I am a very particular person so whatever that I chose to have now, I can assure you that it was decided after long and thoughtful considerations, not to mention thorough research. Yes, you read it right. When it comes to gadgets, unlike clothes or handbags, acknowledging the fact that I will be using them for years to come, I sure want only the best.

Galaxy Note or iPhone 4S? Which one?
Source: CNET

See how the iPhone looks like a toy next to this beast!
Source: Phone Arena

Some people think that gadget junkies are those who tend to have every in-thing whichever that is offered following the trend, which is partially true. Oh, I'm not talking about phones specifically; it can be cameras, Bluetooth headsets, laptops, GPS, or even humongous things like LCD TVs. So in terms of mobile phones, honestly, I'm on the opposite side. Technology has changed greatly, even in the recent years. It is growing at a rapid rate of speed that normal humans can no longer keep up. Today you buy an Apple iPhone and feeling great about it, but the next day you see someone with a giant Samsung Galaxy Note and suddenly you think your iPhone seems somewhat outdated.
http://www.get-em-ol.blogspot.com
I'm just saying.

*******************

Having said that, I always go for the one with a complete package and an extra "umph" point in which other phones don't have. So my way of choosing a phone requires these personal characteristics:

# A phone which can last for more than three years without looking old-fashioned.*yes, a loyal user. I love to stick to one phone*

# A phone which is a head-turner, and will still be for years to come. *sometimes I love to have that attention - but not in trains*

# A phone which can capture high-quality photos and videos. *mind you, not all phones with the highest megapixel take good photos*

# A phone with a crazy-fast processor and super fine screen. *I surf A LOT and well, let's just say I'm fussy like that. I'm a gadget-freak?*

# A phone which has a friendly-user interface and a smooth commendable responsive touch screen. *the iPhone OS is unbeatable*

# A phone with a huge capacity; battery and storage. *simply can't live without a phone. Texting, tweeting, Facebook-ing, surfing, YouTube-ing*

Well, just to point a few.
*you don't wanna know the rest. haha*

*******************

I would love to reminisce about the phones I had before ever since my teenage years (funny how 8-year-olds these days have iPads!) but not today. Now let's get back on track. Hehe.

Which one is yummier?
The white Galaxy Note (*AT&T version) or the iPhone 4S?

So I've been thinking lately whether or not to switch my iPhone 4 to one of these two. Like always, I've done countless research about them; I watched endless reviews on YouTube; read so many articles about the pros and cons of both phones; anxiously, yet patiently asking people about these high-end s*ckers, but in the end, I still can't make up my mind. Tough call, really. Though I have to admit, I can't wait to be the owner of one of these!

"Come to mama!"
http://www.get-em-ol.blogspot.com

If you are an iPhone user, or an Apple fan, and have never tried an Android phone before, you're on the same page as me. Maybe I'll do a review on the Note someday, who knows? Something to share, right?

BREAK DOWN

Posted by ♥ aNNa ♥ at 2:32 AM 0 comments
There are just so many things I've been wanting to talk about since a couple of days ago but for some reason, I don't know, I just can't. I have a lot going on in my mind lately which I can't comprehend and God knows how much I hate it. I keep forgetting and postponing things. It's too disturbing that sometimes, I didn't realize I was actually mumbling! Like a lunatic. Well I never mumbled before. I'm outspoken. I'm a confident person. I talk whenever I want to talk, and I say whenever I want to say. OUT LOUD. Not by mumbling. That's what cowards do. I'm not a coward. But yes, something has changed somewhere and it got me.

So you know, like a monologue, I tend to talk to myself.

"You know I don't like that, do you?"
"Oh yes you don't."
"So stop it right now!"
"Come on, it's nothing really."
"I SAID STOP IT."
"FINE..."
|
|
GOD, what was that all about?
|
|
"Oh yeah? Like you're that great?"
"Well obviously?"
"Pfft. Give me a break!"

Okay THAT never happened.

*************

If only someone could take me away...
Away from this place...

|
|

Well, maybe it's best if I let these tweets do all the talking.

Even my friend tweeted me asking;
I don't know... It's just too much to handle.

TAKE ME AWAY. PLEASE.

P/s: I have a quiz at 9, and I still haven't read a thing. Not a word.

YOGA INSTRUCTOR NEEDED

Posted by ♥ aNNa ♥ at 10:45 AM 0 comments
Okay, just forget the title.
But seriously, I think I need to go hiking or something and meditate because clearly, right now my mind is all over the place!

Lately, I tend to forget where I put things (keys especially!) and worst of all, I sulked over silly arguments quite often (well they weren't really arguments actually, I chose to think like they were). Like, JEEZ. What's gotten into me?

I think I need a break from this so-called "reality"; go out and have some fun. I'm talking about shopping (OR window shopping), movies, spas and karaoke all in one day. *oh gosh, HEAVEN!* This "reality" world where I'm living now is just so agonizing and dare I say, this place is no longer my comfort zone.

I need a new place.
A new house.
A new room.
A new partner.

Yeah.

PEOPLE vs CELEBRITIES

Posted by ♥ aNNa ♥ at 3:12 AM 0 comments
"When a celebrity wears something no matter how ridiculous it looks, it's FASHION. But when a regular person wears something similar, it's a CATASTROPHE."

Has anyone ever said something like that to you? Or maybe you have heard or read it somewhere, you know, from any sources? I bet you have. What ticks me off is the fact that WE, this so-called "regular people" have to have that some sort of barriers of what we want to wear while celebrities get that extra privilege in wearing anything they like. Mismatched colours, baggy outfits, street fashions and mix and match styles, well just to name a few.

Say, Rihanna.

A cropped electric blue jacket, a purple Sonia Rykiel jumper, and a yellow handbag. Like, "Whatever right? I think this combination looks great and I LOVE IT!"

Look at Tyra.

A girly pink, green, and blue one-shoulder colour block catsuit!
"Hello, talk about boldness and confidence!"

Heidi Montag?

A buttery maxi dress and a fuchsia handbag! Whaddya say about that?
*though I have to say, that bag looks FAB!*

Oh wait, how about this?

Obviously this one screams, "WHO CARES??"

Imagine US, in such outfits.
Oooh I hear whisperings...

*************

So those are about colours.

You know, I'm not saying that their styles are wrong in fashion. Who am I to judge? One thing is for sure, fashion is about showing your individualism. It is about choosing things that you think are fashionable, and that fit your personal sense of style. And trends, too.

Okay, so let's move on to an even tricky business like sequin dresses.
Three words: Shiny, Jazzy, and Classy.

Traditionally, this outfit is worn at night as an evening wear, during a very special occasion. Not anymore. It's the ultimate bling, yes, so it has to be paired with caution - to avoid looking like a walking Christmas Tree. Well, I sure can talk about this for days but that's not actually my point.

Take Beyonce, for example.
A sequin dress, a casual top and a leather jacket.

Or Paula Patton.

A gold sequin Moschino dress, a small black belt, and a leather jacket.

Oh, how about Heidi Klum?

A sequin tank and scarf, a blazer, dark skinny jeans and black patent pumps.

So what say you? Do they all look stylish to you? Of course, right? Because they are celebrities. Whatever they wear looks perfect. Like, so in, so cool, yadayadayada.

*************

Why do you think I bring this subject up, anyway? Say thanks to this one particular MAKCIK (aunt), whom I happened to walk past her once when I was shopping at MV. Or was it Sunway? KLCC? Oh never mind. Good thing I have already forgotten her face. See, that day I was wearing my black sequin dress. Here's another confession: I'm not a fan of anything sequin-y but I thought I should have at least one in my wardrobe so I gave it a try. I used to wear the dress before when I was going out with boo and my friends and I'm telling you, they all LOVED it!

A black sequin dress, a cropped open puff sleeve blazer, black skinny jeans, a cute ruffle crossbody bag, and gladiator heels. "Glam rock, baby!"

Since I'm a hijab-er, I opted for that look. I think I looked chic, decent, definitely not OTT. What could go wrong with that, right?

The second time I wore this dress, I paired it with my favourite Hello Skinny jeans, just for experiment's sake. Yes I only have one sequin dress, hehe.

SADLY though, there was this typical traditional lady who, I don't know, thought that sequin dresses are only for clubbing and parties commented about my style to his husband. I didn't hear her well because she kind of mumbled it but I could hear her saying, "Ey, nak pergi kelab ke.." and I was like OUCH!?

If I could translate that in English, she'd probably sound like this: "Ew, WTH is she thinking? If you wanna go clubbing then this isn't the place!" Like WHAT THE HECK, right? It was a mall, lady. Not Pasar Malam or some sort. And it's not like I wore the dress alone? Worst of all, we were so close. How stup*d was that? So I literally turned around and gave her a sharp look, which made her startled.

I wonder what she'd say if I wore this.
Sequin pants by Lukas
Looks pretty, indeed. But I won't wear such bottom. Reminds me of snakes.
*shivers*

I'm fine with criticisms but that was utterly rude. How could you accuse someone who wears the same kind of headwear as clubber? Typical Malays. You know, even if you disagree with someone else's sense of style, it's best if you keep it to yourself first. Or at least think before you speak. Boy I was boiling, that I couldn't handle. I swear because of that nasty comment she made, I sulked for almost two hours. It bugged me so much. Then I thought "Well, let's just assume that she doesn't read enough magazines."

*************

The thing is, what is it that differs the PEOPLE and CELEBRITIES in terms of styling? What makes them special in a way that "regular people" don't?

Why can't the PEOPLE wear shades in a mall, but CELEBRITIES can?
Why can't WE wear mismatched colours outfit, but CELEBRITIES can?

One day you are dressing up Harajuku style, people might call you crazy. Then they see Gwen Steffani rocking it, they call it pretty.

I'm just saying.

Style is style. You either have it or you don't. If you can't take the heat then stay out of the kitchen. Just because you dislike an outfit or someone's entire style, doesn't mean that they are doing it wrong. But of course there are the rights and the wrongs in styling (err... Gaga?) but why do people always think that only celebrities can make an outfit pretty? It's basically the same ideas. Even brands, maybe! So why is it that the style of a celebrity is actually FASHION and ours is just TRAGIC? Hm?

Something to ponder.

I've been wanting to post something up here today but I can't. Apparently, stupid connection is playing hide and seek so here I am, writing this post on my iPhone. Thank you, #Steve. Well, since there aren't any "buttons" available to make this post a little more interesting; no Bold-Italic-Underline icons - no nothing, so I guess I'll just leave it as it is............ Okay then. That has to wait, I presume. Ciao~ ;)

CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC

Posted by ♥ aNNa ♥ at 1:15 AM 0 comments
Men always have this skeptical view of a woman being a shopaholic. Hear me now fellas, you are dead wrong. Not all women are born shopaholics. None of us knows that some day we will become one. It is some kind of a spell that falls on selected beings, that is all. So basically a shopaholic is a person who is a compulsive shopper. One who does not know how to stop shopping; often buys clothes and other things for herself (even for others - now go thank them). They shop, shop, shop until they drop - simply because they can't stand being weighed down by those shopping bags. Not to mention the sore feet and red aching soles from endless walking in sky-high Bordello heels.

Yums.

*******************

How do you know that you are a shopaholic? Easy. Answer these very straightforward, nail-biting questions and you will have the answer.

Have you ever shopped something secretly and tried to store them somewhere without allowing anyone in the household to be aware of those purchases?
~well, duh?

Shopping is no longer your hobby, but a habit. You shop when you are up, and you shop even more when you are down.
~can't help it

Your life quotes have somehow changed its meaning to something like, "What we can't solve in real life, we solve it through retail therapy". Or "If the shoe fits, get another just like it".
~who told you that?

You know you shop way too often to some extent where you think your wardrobe and room should already be a shopping paradise.
~err..

When someone tells you that you shop not because you need something but just for shopping's sake, you fickle. But when you try to explain to them, you stumble. "Just because" is your safest answer.
~pfft. pfft.. *rolls eyes*

*******************

SO WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY...
We shop because we like pretty things.
We shop because we want to look beautiful.
We shop because we are born with nine friggin' lusts.
We shop because we HAVE to shop.
Just because.

If it wasn't for us, all the money in the world would have no meaning.
It's not our fault that we can't stop shopping, it's the retailers who tempt us back into their stores!
*ehehehehe*

"We always hold hands. If I let go, she shops."
-Henny Youngman-

So guys, as long as you haven't said this yourself to your woman then there is nothing to be worried about. She is not (yet) a so-called compulsive shopper. Back her up! You love her, don't you?
*winks*

THANK YOU, CAFFEINE

Posted by ♥ aNNa ♥ at 6:31 AM 0 comments
Woohoo!
Guess what?
I'M STILL HERE.
Surprise, surprise.

Stupid caffeine has taken over and I can barely sleep. Mr. Yawn keeps telling me to stop doing whatever that I am doing and hit the sack pronto, but my, my, poor thing is just being ignored.

Much appreciation to all these awesome, fabulous online sites that I have something to keep me company the whole night.

It is frustrating to say that the ones I drooled over are all super pricey! ALWAYS. Well at least that confirms the fact that I have such high taste in clothing, cough!
[puke here]

I have to say, for once I actually STALKED this lady post by post; newest to the oldest (back until January 2011! Haha, no kidding!) No, no. fret not. It's just that I like her writing. Always high-spirited and funny. But umm.. Yeah, stalk really does sound vulgar at some point but not that I mean it. Well thanks to her commendable fashion sense, and her successful online shop, I couldn't help but to know which top is which that she used to wear in every occasion and then find it on Fashion Valet straight away. The clothes got me hooked, that is all. Don't get me wrong. She sure has an awesome way to promote them! Sad enough, the ones that I wanted are all sold out. Boo-hoo.

Feeling devastated, I googled again for something similar and was happy when I found this instead;

Whoa, little did I know that this person also sells quite the same things as in Vivy's! Some of the garments did catch my attention so I sent an inquiry regarding them. Early birds catch the worm. Okay, that makes no sense here but I know you know what I mean. Forgive my "dawn talk".

I browsed some other blogshops too, but I think they are not worth mentioning. Simply because I couldn't find anything that I like. Hehe.

That's it.

P/s: Photos will be uploaded soon. If I feeling like uploading. Hehe.

WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING!

Posted by ♥ aNNa ♥ at 2:55 AM 0 comments
YOU'RE ENGAGED!
YAY!

And of course, like any other women, your first thought may have been:
"What to wear? What am I going to wear on my big day?"
From that moment onward, you know the pressure is on. You can't tell whether whatever you are thinking at that time is actually a blissful excitement or simply sheer panic. Let's face it, choosing the best wedding dress is utterly stressful! You have so many things going on in your mind considering whether the dress is perfect enough to woo yourself, what's more your guests! The fact that all eyes will be on you and the photos that will be around forever, you've got to admit:
That's a lot of pressure on one friggin' dress!

Hahahaha.

Yes, I am not talking about myself.
No, I am not yet engaged.
No, is it not me who is going to get married.
Boohoo.
http://www.get-em-ol.blogspot.com
I was actually referring to my one of my dear friends.
I wish it was me, though. Ops.
Moving on....

My friend is tying the knot soon so she will be needing us, her awesome stylish all-single girlfriends (is that even necessary?) to help her find the right wedding dress. She is my ex-schoolmate from SSP; can't reveal the name yet since this is still a secret to the rest of our other friends. She has our mouths zipped. So thanks to the caffeine I had just now, I am more than happy to post something up tonight. Again.

So basically, the process of shopping for a wedding dress can a fabulous adventure. There is no doubt that it can be quite stressful and overwhelming. That is why I have to keep myself checked and prepared. Not that I need it now but it's true like what they say, "If you want peace, you must prepare for the war."

http://www.get-em-ol.blogspot.com
Hmmmmmm...
Okay that doesn't sound like it. But you get what I mean, right?

When To Start Shopping?
I think the perfect time to order or buy  a wedding dress is at least six months before the wedding. Obviously you will need ample time to make the right decision. Besides, more time gives you less hassle especially in terms of some rush charges.

A Dress That Fits Your Body Well!
Who doesn't want to look great on their wedding day? Know about your body type and what kinds of dresses generally look good on you all this while. Opt for a dress that has similar lines to your regular dresses that make you feel confident and beautiful.

Expensive Dress Is Not Necessarily The Best Kind
If money is an issue, go for the one that falls under your budget. You will need more money to spend on other things than just a wedding dress. Most importantly, always remember that it is your wedding day. So choose the one that makes you comfortable and feels like you. It should be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

WOW.
Still can't believe I will be doing this very soon.
I mean, for her!
Not for me!

Hahaha.

Boo just made my night by sending me a song dedication on an online radio which is known as Rileks.fm. Oh don't worry, that was the first time I heard such name, too. Well he made it twice actually, because I missed the first one. Blame the connection.
*grrr...*

I laughed out loud upon hearing what Boo had sent for me;
" Kepada Farhana yang berada di UKM, Bangi.
Makan maggi elok-elok ye.."

Puuuurrrff!!

Yes, he knew I was having Mamee Sllrrrp Kari Berapi by then. Almost choked on the instant noodles when she (the DJ) said that!

DJ: 'Ai, makan maggi je? Kenyang ke makan maggi tu? Oh takpe-takpe, esok boleh keluar dating! Ahaks. Pandai-pandai jela kan, habislah saya kena esok.' "

HAHAHAHAHA!

What is more hilarious is that the DJ is actually his cousin.

A CUP OF COFFEE

Posted by ♥ aNNa ♥ at 9:25 PM 0 comments
It is 9.25pm and the rain has just started falling. The roads are wet, the trees are dancing because of the breezy push of wind. So on a cold night like this, I think a hot drink is often the cure for what ails.

So what is it that ails me? It's pretty hard to say and I totally hate that feeling. You know, the moment when you really, really feel like telling someone something, but it makes you sad because you know there isn't anybody whom you can share with. It feels so suffocating as though you are drowning in a pool of muddy rainwater. It is as though you are choking but you are still breathing.

http://www.get-em-ol.blogspot.com

Life has been pretty tough on my side this time. Academically, no. Socially and mentally, yes. Or so I think. That explains the hiatus, in case you were wondering. More on that later. Cross your fingers hard for that to happen, though.

http://www.get-em-ol.blogspot.com

Warm hug for my dear bloggy.
For now, a cup of coffee is what I need.
